Ceremony Ideas
John and I have been doing a lot of internet research lately. He’s been really good at finding sites about small weddings. Here is a list of some of the ideas we’ve picked from the various sites. Sadly, I don’t have those links anymore.
- garden or restaurant for reception, ask even if they don’t publicly offer weddings
- wine and cheese mixer while photos are taken
- play slideshow on screen during mixer (Hello PowerPoint!)
- have people on isles add flower to bouquet to symbolize family contributions to relationship (LOVE THIS ONE & we’re definatly doing it!!)
- have fancy & personal program, thank people individually
- rent trolly or carriage if reception is close to ceremony
- give one flower from bouquet to single women instead of tossing bouquet
- appoint someone as “host” to point people to the guestbook, direct them where to go, etc *cough* Mom *cough*
- ring an “Irish Wedding Bell” at the end of the ceremony, then keep the bell somewhere prominant in the home
- Small horseshoe in bouquet for luck

Wedding Stuff – 1st Post!
John and I did a lot of research on weddings today. It’s hard to find a location for the ceremony & reception that would be good for us because we only plan on having about 30 guests, and a lot of placed require a minimum of 100. I don’t even think I know 100 people, lol.

I would love for our wedding to take place here, at Top of the World Gardens. Their website is not good though. I wonder if they would trade a nice website for a nice wedding… hmmm. That would be great.

We’re also liking The Green Lantern Inn for a reception location. Ignoring that it sounds like the comic book character, of course. We have a bunch of links saved though, so these are by no means our final choices.
Pictures from the various location websites.
